Bought this as an update to the Hero 3+ (I still have the 3+ but my daughter wanted this one). Camera works great, love having the extra battery

Bought this to shoot snowboarding in 4K, opened it up and set it up. It won’t enable the stabilization feature in 4K. Disappointed, would have sprung for the Hero7 Black had I known. It doesn’t say anything anywhere about that limitation. Everything else seems as good as advertised, but that’s a pretty big unadvertised feature hole.

Got this once the 7, to say nothing of the 6, was out, so it was on deep discount, and I’m not a bit disappointed. Low-light quality could be better, I wonder how it is with the 7s? good stabilization, sound is so-so, I recommend getting a mic for anything you want to sound better than meh.

I had a hero 4 that died and bought a hero5 to replace it. If you’re in a similar boat, just wanted to call out a few differences:
Hero4 batteries are incompatible with Hero5; you’ll have to buy new batteries and new chargers.
The Hero5 has many functions only accessible via touch-screen controls whereas with the the Hero4 everything could be managed via the physical buttons on the camera.
The new camera is bigger and heavier. Hero4 with battery and card was 2.89oz. Hero5 with battery and card is 4.13oz.
Because it’s bigger it might not work with gimbals that used to work fine for the Hero3 and Hero4. I have an older style Feiyu Tech G4 gimbal that doesn’t work with it.
It uses a usb type “c” cable to charge the battery, so obviously micro usb cables won’t work. Just a heads up that if you’re like me you’ll need to buy some new cables.

The main reason for purchasing the Gopro was to take on a 7 day cruise to use on excursions and film the vacation. During the first excursion the unit would not turn on, and said it was “too hot”. Others with Gopro units were able to record without any problems. This happened several times throughout vacation, including in air conditioned vehicles. Prior to vacation we did test the unit and were able to record and review a few short clips. I am now stuck with a Gopro unit, SD card, extra battery, and other accessories. I would not recommend this model to anyone.

Can’t say much more than u already know bout this product. Everything was perfect. But buying this product from this seller was key! Having the 2nd battery that they included for the price posted was Awesome. Recommended over & Over again from this Seller.

Easy to use, and nice video quality. Have not tried the camera into the water yet. The only thing I dont like is that you can not see the date and time on the video you are recording as other cheap cameras do. This is a major failure from GoPro. For the price of the camera this feature should be included. Better sound than other cheap cameras. I dont really know if the price difference justifies a GoPro vs others. Depending on the use I guess.
